Ingleside at King Farm understands the importance of looking ahead while remembering the past and celebrating the present. That's why we're endeavoring toward the most esteemed accreditation for new construction: Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED). We have partnered with residents to demonstrate our commitment to recycling and have already taken such initiatives as reducing electricity consumption through alternative power sources, using more earth friendly materials and finishes, and establishing green spaces including a forthcoming dog park!
“Good health is a blessing, but we knew there might come a time when we would need a continuing care community. We love the King Farm neighborhood and didn’t want to burden our children, so we decided to move before there was a waiting list. Once we moved, we discovered less stress and more fun. We continued to work for some time and met many other residents who like to keep busy. There is an 83-year-old lawyer who goes to work daily, that is after his morning jog and gym rounds. Others we know conduct lab research at NIH, help customers with taxes, create and show their own art work, consult, serve as docents, and volunteer with such organizations as Meals on Wheels and Shady Grove Hospital. While Ingleside is a senior living facility, it is a very active and vibrant one—far from a “retired” community.”
