Folks are still talking, with delight and even a bit of amazement, about the variety of prayers shared from such a variety of faiths. Prayers were danced, chanted, sung. Prayers were played on flutes and drums. Prayers were recited in several languages. Across all this variation, the common theme of caring for one another, and for our planet home, was conspicuous. Guests, members and staff all enjoyed experiencing one another’s different faiths and backgrounds. We’ll do it again next year on National Prayer Day 2014, and if you’re reading this, you are welcome to join us!

Washington Spirit players living at Rockville retirement community

When Robyn Gayle and Diana Matheson, teammates on the Washington Spirit pro soccer team, learned where they would live this summer, they thought someone was playing a prank.

At this time in history, when religious and political strife wants to tear people apart, the need to seek understanding and unity could not be greater. Ingleside at King Farm, because of its wonderful diversity, and the hard earned wisdom of its members, can be a place of such healing.

Diana Matheson and Robyn Gayle two of the star players of the Washington Spirit move into Ingleside at King Farm!

Two Olympic medal-winning soccer players follow in the footsteps of a professional baseball player – into a retirement community. See article at the "Guide to Retirement Living" website.

Ingleside Computer Club

Jo Stafford, an American pop singer once famously said, “I've got a computer, but I won't go near it.” A new club at Ingleside at King Farm is not only making computers approachable, but giving reluctant users confidence they never thought possible.

Many members of the Ingleside at King Farm (IKF) community are still working or running businesses, leading non-profits, or doing consulting work, and are aware that computers are an important tool in the workplace. Richard Thayer who is a spiritual friend to the Ingleside community members. The generosity of numerous members (who became benefactors) led to increasing Rev. Thayer’s availability to our community.

The story of how Rev. Thayer ended up at Ingleside is indicative of the way things seem to work around here. After completing an interim ministry post, Rev. Thayer mused in his 2011 Christmas letter that he was looking around for a new place to serve. A good friend who happened to live at Ingleside read the letter and urged him to apply for a new job as part time Chaplain of Ingleside at King Farm.

Five Ingleside at King Farm employees receive national recognition

Denton, Texas – The Coalition for Leadership in Aging Service (CLAS) honors five Ingleside at King Farm employees as members of the 2012 Certified Aging Services Professional (CASP) graduation class. This can be especially true for those who have been living in their current homes for the past 30 or 40 years and must suddenly sort through a lifetime of possessions in just a few weeks. In these cases, moving is not just a physical process, but an emotional one as well. Because of the emotional and physical aspects inherent in preparing for a move, it can be helpful to work with a neutral third party such as a Senior Move Manager.

Why Now Is The Right Time

It's the right time to move into a retirement home when other options are no longer viable. That sounds simple, of course, but here are some guidelines to know when it is the right time to move yourself or your elderly loved one into a retirement home.

One of the best ways to sell yourself or your loved one on the idea of a retirement home is to take a look at ways in which the move can improve on every aspect of living.

When it comes to Shopping skills—Age and experience saves.

Do seniors get more for their money?
